A Place for Dreamers: Science Museum Oklahoma
Science Museum Oklahoma (SMO) has been sparking curiosity in young minds since 1958. With hands-on experiences and STEAM education, it’s a place where children discover their passions and learn to dream big. In 2024, SMO’s inaugural Elemental Ball fundraiser needed something extraordinary — a message that would rally donors to support its mission.
A Mission That Sparks
SMO needed donors to understand the difference they could make in the lives of Oklahoma’s future innovators. The museum partnered with Koch Comm to create a video to capture that mission. Interviews with staff and board members highlighted programs like mobile labs reaching rural communities, interactive workshops and awe-inspiring exhibits like the planetarium. Through thoughtful scripting and genuine testimonials, the video showcased how SMO gives kids tools to learn, create and believe in their potential.
Turning Inspiration Into Action
The video premiered at the Elemental Ball and struck a chord with donors. It didn’t just showcase SMO’s mission — it invited them to be part of it. Donations at the Elemental Ball exceeded their goal, ensuring that SMO can expand its programs and reach more children across Oklahoma.
For generations, SMO has been a place where kids discover what’s possible. With support from the Elemental Ball donors, it will continue to light that spark for years to come.
